I'm trying to be there Friday, but it's still a 'maybe' at this point.

The summer show seemed a little slower than usual, perhaps due to the Long Beach show just two weeks before. I was able to purchase a fresh 1846 dollar graded AU-58 by PCGS with attractive natural surfaces. My friend happens to need this date for his set, I think he will like it. The crab cakes were delicious and it was great to see my friend Dan and his special daughter and son, Madison and Dylan. I enjoyed receiving positive feedback from respected numismatists on the quality of my D.B.H. collection. I'm already looking forward to the fall show which has always been a great one. Image

I only went down on Saturday with my niece, son and daughter. We all had a good time at the show. Enjoyed talking to Brian Cushing and picked up a nice half from him for a good friend. Dylan said there wasn't that much action going on at the summer show. It turned out to be a nice day out and the women must have been at the beach. Certainly not walking by Brian's table with two bachelors.
My expectations were low, just heading to the show to pick up a coin. Greg's bust halves were very nice indeed. The 1846 was also a choice coin. The girls had a good time at the kids corner and loved the coins they were given. They definitely want to go again which makes me happy. That was the highlight of my show being with my family. The icing on the cake was my Newp.

Anyone one purchase any nice dollars lately? Although Pizzamiglio wasn't able to attend the show I heard he picked up a nice WM piece. Image

At the risk of being crucified for my photos..........

I did pick up a very nice 1866 that has a lovely original look to it.  From what I understand it's been locked away for the last quarter-century, so I was very fortunate that the seller was willing to part with it.  The area around the E in ONE, and at the 6 o'clock on the reverse, are scuff marks on the holder - not my horrible photography skills! Image

I also picked up a 59-s, but I can't take credit for these pics.....Image

WOW. Nice dollars. I actually prefer the 59=S, but then I am a sucker for coins that have halo luster around the devices.

Two nice additions to your dollar set your building. The 59s is a nice looking coin and very tough. My set piece is a vf30 until I can find an upgrade. The 66 looks like a sweet coin, does it have any luster? So much for the short set! Right
